Tenancy Problems - Discrimination

Q: I have a question about my baby.
I had a boy during my tenancy but I didn't inform to landlord. Now the landlord told me I have to pay for the third person's rent fee because I started to lease contract for 2 people.
Should I pay for the additional rent fee for my baby and should I inform the fact that I had a baby?
A: Ask your landlord what section of the Residential Tenancy Act of British Columbia he thinks empowers him to charge you extra rent because you had a baby. If your landlord has the audacity to insist on more rent or intimidates you further, you might want to advise him that you're going to advance this with both the Residential Tenancy Branch authorities and the Human Rights people too - then do it.
